Worlds

What is Myrl?

Myrl is a cross-world entertainment platform, bringing virtual worlds and their users together on the web. We are building a layer on top of each virtual world, linking them up to create an integrated playground with endless possibilities and applications.

The first release of Myrl is focused on social virtual worlds and connects users from 19 worlds like Second Life, Lively, Entropia and There. Check out the complete map of the worlds supported "here":http://www.myrl.com/worlds.

What does myrl stand for?

Myrl stands for both My Real Life and My Role Life. The boundaries between real life and virtual life are more and more blurred. As far as virtual lives imply shared experiences and persistent worlds/characters, they are as real as the "real" lives.

Why myrl?

The extraordinary growth of the number of worlds available and the extreme diversification of the experiences that are now possible in the virtual space is changing the way we use virtual worlds, making our virtual experience more and more multi-world and content-driven, rather then world-driven. We want to support and foster this change, providing a platform that enables worlds-browsing and makes our virtual lives easier, richer and funnier. We started Myrl to:

  • bridge the gap between virtual worlds and the web, integrating web2.0 tools into the virtual worlds
  • connect multiple virtual worlds on the same platform
  • build a cross-worlds community of users and stimulate cross-worlds interactions
  • simplify the discovery of and access to new worlds
  • manage centrally multiple avatars from a single dashboard
  • keep up with our friends and events in the virtual worlds via the web/mobiles
  • provide a meta-search engine for multiple worlds
  • provide a cross-world social networking, virtual goods trading and gaming platform
  • provide a social ranking of virtual worlds related information to make it easier to find the interesting stuff
  • support virtual worlds businesses and help building a stronger virtual business community
